I’m now going to drown my sorrows in some Chocolate Brownie Pudding (my Mother-in-Law’s recipe).

Here’s the recipe if you’d like to do the same:

1 cup sifted all purpose flour

3/4 cup granulated sugar

2 Tbsp cocoa

2 Tbsp baking powder

1/2 tsp salt

1/2 cup milk

2 Tbsp salad oil

1 tsp vanilla

3/4 cup chopped walnuts (optional and I usually skip them)

Preheat oven to 350′. Sift together first 5 ingredients.  Add milk, salad oil and vanilla.  Mix until smooth (makes a dough like consistency).  Stir in nuts.  Spread into greased 8x8x2 pan.

Mix together 3/4 cup brown sugar and 1/4 cup cocoa and sprinkle over batter in pan.

Pour 1 and 3/4 cups hot tap water over entire  batter.

Bake at 350′ for about 45 minutes.  Makes 6-8 servings.  Tastes even better with vanilla ice cream and whipped cream 🙂
