Hey there Cutie Pitutie!

mirror.jpgYou are 4 1/2 months old already! Wow! Does time ever fly when you’re having so much fun!! And at 4 1/2 months you are definitely starting to have fun. You LOOOOOOVE your Jolly Jumper that Grandma bought you. You also LOOOOVE the bath toys your Grandma bought you, and the spider that sings Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star. Are we noticing a trend here? Can you tell that Grandma really LOOOOOVES shopping for you? You are rather hard to resist, especially now that you are so interactive. The other person who adores spending time with you is your Nana. She is so happy to be able to snuggle you and watch you now that she is at home again. She can’t hold you for very long because you are such a squirmy little worm and she is still regaining her strength…but she chats with you all the time and likes to cuddle with you for a few minutes before your afternoon nap.

You smile constantly (except when you’re mad – then you like to scream at the top of your lungs just to make sure we all get it!) and you are giggling now too. You giggle lots when we tickle you…but you are starting to giggle at other things too. In fact, just this morning you giggled when Mommy made lots of silly faces at you. chillin-in-chair.jpg

You love to be naked. It is one of your favourite things. Whenever I take your clothes off to change you or put in the tub, you get a huge grin on your face and thrash your arms and legs around with glee. Except in the middle of the night. Then you are decidedly unimpressed with nakedness and bum-changes. Nope, at 3 am you want no part of nakedness.

Now that you have figured out how to roll over both ways you seem to be taking a break from it. Even though you know how, you seem rather content to stay on the side that we place you on. Although you are generally happier on your back than on your tummy.

You are starting to go longer between feedings, as well. Usually three hours but even longer than that at night. And speaking of night, you are doing a little bit better in the sleeping department. bouncin-baby.jpgAlthough you are still waking up more times than I would like, you are pretty easy to get back to sleep. Usually I just pop your soother back in, pat you on the back or give you a quick snuggle and you drift back to dreamland. During the day however, you are napping much more consistently. You sleep for about an hour in the morning and two hours in the afternoon.

You are a big hit with everyone you meet, thanks to your big bright eyes and lovely smiling face. And you are becoming quite the seasoned traveller; you were just as happy on our flights to and from Ottawa as you were on our flight from Comox to Toronto. You grinned at everyone, didn’t cry once, and were perfectly content to be carried in your Beco through the airports. Even the security people thought you were cute!

The only sad thing about 4 1/2 months is that your Daddy isn’t here to see all the changes in person. He misses you terribly and sends you lots of hugs and kisses.

Hopefully by the time you are 5 months we will be back in Comox with your big brother Turner. I can’t wait to see what the next month has in store for you!

Lots of Love and Snuggles,
